Tanmay Gupta

Full-Stack ML Engineer

I build, train, and deploy ML models, design and build web apps, and find ways to market / sell it.

About me

Hi — thanks for making it here.

I'm an ML engineer with a soft spot for the design of everyday things.

Absolutely in awe of nature and proud of humanity's accomplishments, I love understanding the design behind everything — from atoms and biology to logistics systems and GPUs, and learning what makes something more efficient versus what leads to chaos.

I have a keen interest in physics, art, math, drones, simulations, evolution, and large-scale systems.

I've worked as an ML scientist at Flexport, Shopify, and IBM, building ML and optimization models across logistics and product use cases.

I co-founded and operate Quarkle — an AI editor that helps over 1,000 authors every week. We've crossed $120K in revenue with zero outside funding.

I had a military upbringing and moved almost every two years growing up.

Currently based in Austin, focused on VLM RL and inference.

In my free time I cook, read, draw, scuba dive, and build small everyday apps for my partner and I.
